Off Switch

Can anyone advise me on my washing machine on / off switch problem?
I have a 1000 Hotpoint WM52 washing machine, and the on / off switch unit has passed into the machine. It does not seem to have screws and do not stay put when pushed back into the slot. Any idea how it will replace and what is there. If not repaired (hopefully it is) where can I get a piece of alternative?
