High Density
What are the winds of high density on the radar, what does the flag represent symbols, and how is it measured?
I always wanted to be a meteorologist, but never had the chance or the money to become one, but I still can. I looked Satellite images from NOAA and you can bring up the winds of high density and it shows that I think there are three different forces and these flags. If you can try to explain in simple terms what this means? Regarding the flag symbols, I know they indicate wind direction, but why some have one, two or three flags?
In fact, if you look at the bottom, it shows what the different colors mean. Red is for winds in the region 100-400mb, blue is for winds of 401-700mb region, and yellow for the upper level winds. The flags are mainly for the strength of the winds. Flags more more wind under the flags over the wind. The flags are referred to as wind barbs.
